Health Stack: Nicoline Roth

Each week, we tap our network of health and fitness experts to offer personal insights and recommendations.

This week: Nicoline Roth, founder and CEO of Nordic Strong, a Copenhagen-born and soon to be New York-based fitness concept redefining full-body training.

Nicoline Roth is founder and CEO of Nordic Strong.

Nicoline merges performance with presence. As a leader and coach, she’s committed to movement, strength, and rituals that restore and sustain — including breathwork, recovery, and longevity-focused practices.

Here’s what fuels her day-to-day:

  • Open App: “I start most mornings with 10 minutes of intention-setting breathwork. If I need to reset later in the day, I go for something grounding—it always brings me back to center.”

  • On: “I love On shoes for their cool design and reliable support. They’re the kind of shoes I can wear all day, from gym to city, without ever having to think twice. The Cloudswift is my all-time favorite style.”

  • Promix Electrolytes: “I take Promix Electrolytes to support recovery, boost performance, and replenish what I lose through sweat. It’s clean, effective, and tastes great.”

  • WHOOP: “I use Whoop to stay in tune with how I’m sleeping, recovering, and performing. It holds me accountable and has made a difference: I’ve cut back on sugar and alcohol in the evenings, and I genuinely feel so much better because of it.”

  • Bala Bangles: “They add that little extra challenge to a workout, and I always have them in my suitcase for an impromptu training

  • Omnilux: “I wear the Omnilux Contour Face red-light mask for 10 minutes while I unwind. It’s such an easy way to support skin health, reduce inflammation.”

On Our Radar

Interesting stories we spotted this week →

Train now for your 90s. Peter Attia recently shared his “centenarian decathlon” concept: make a list of 10 things you want to do in your final decade of life, then train now to maintain those abilities. Want to dance in your 80s? Prioritize balance. Play on the floor with grandkids? Work on mobility. Travel solo in your 90s? Build functional strength. With limited time, Attia advises focusing on your weakest areas to get the greatest long-term return.

Cholesterol's cognitive connection. Lower cholesterol may protect your mind as well as your heart. In a study of over 100,000 adults, those with LDL cholesterol below 70 mg/dL had a 26% lower risk of dementia compared to those above 130 mg/dL. To support healthy cholesterol naturally: eat more fiber and healthy fats, avoid ultra-processed foods, and stay active.

The gut-muscle axis. Eating for a healthy microbiome may help preserve muscle as you age. In a study of 9,470 people, each one-point increase on the Dietary Index for Gut Microbiota (DI-GM) was linked to a 15% lower risk of muscle loss. Those with the most gut-friendly diets had a 51% lower prevalence of sarcopenia (loss of muscle as we age)compared to those with the least. Supporting your gut may be key to staying strong later in life.
