Health Stack: Rory Knight
Each week, we tap our network of health and fitness experts to offer personal insights and recommendations.
This week: Rory Knight, director of fitness at Mvmnt. With over 20 years in wellness, Knight’s worked with giants like Nike, Technogym, and Under Armour.

Rory Knight, director of fitness at Mvmnt.
Now, he juggles the same grind as many of us — balancing work and well-being. “Most of my day is spent in the office, rather than at the gym,” he admits. Between meetings, product testing, and team leadership, carving out workout time requires focus.
“My goal? Train smart and sustainably so I wake up feeling good about life.” Prepping for a HYROX event in Berlin, Knight blends intense sessions with recovery and prehab. He schedules workouts “late in the day” to lock in “non-negotiable ‘me’ time.”
Here’s Knight to share his go-to products:
Saucony Endorphin Speed Pro 4: “This is the ultimate HYROX shoe — the perfect blend of speed and propulsion for your runs, with balance, stability, and traction across the stations.”
Mvmnt: “A fitness platform obsessed with quality workouts and recovery. Its short mobility flows keep me consistent—3-4 times a week is my sweet spot.”
Beats Fit Pro: “No workout happens without these. I love the sleek design, killer sound, and that they stay put while running or doing burpees.”
Apple Watch: “My trusty workout companion logging all any activity. Bonus: I can match the strap to my fit.”
SIS Gels: “These ensure that I remain fuelled for my longer runs.”
Lululemon Always in Motion Boxer: “Up there with the comfiest boxers I’ve ever worn.”

On Our Radar
Interesting stories we spotted this week →
Body Programming: New data reveals cold-season babies have 78.2% higher brown fat activity — the calorie-torching kind — vs. 66.0% for warm-season births. This “thermal imprinting” could fend off age-related weight gain, no diet or gym required.
Sweet Science: Sucralose increases appetite-center blood flow by 3%, while sugar and water drop it by 6%. Study participants were three times hungrier after sucralose vs. sugar, hinting artificial sweeteners trigger “metabolic confusion”— meaning sweetness without calories scrambles hunger signals.
Running Innovation: Avelo’s “Supertrainer,” launching in May, claims to be the world’s first smart running shoe. Born from founder Royi Metser’s health wake-up call, it tracks impact and form, syncing to an app that coaches you to run stronger and safer. Get an exclusive first look at it here.
High-Impact Longevity: Four months of seasonal HIIT reverses cardio aging. Over eight years, metabolic syndrome patients on a 16-week Norwegian 4x4 (4-min intervals at ~90% max heart rate) program boosted aerobic capacity by 14% with no extra meds, while controls lost 7% and upped meds by 137%. Seasonal sprints might be the longevity hack.
